“Ramesh Suyal is the person to go to for a lovely experience of Corbett.”
4 of 5 starsHe is honest humble and caring guide. He ensures the comfort of his clients at all costs.
I was truly touched when he managed to take time off everyday, from caring for his ailing father who had been hospitalized, to meet with his clients ensure their arrangements are taken care of and arranging for appropriate staff to take care of the safari visits and also the accomodations.... very rarely one can see such personal touch which is not laced with commercialism.
The new place MYRICA
ANAND VAN  RESORT which I was initially skeptic of turned out to be a truly wonderful place to stay and I hope the staff there will continue with their best down the lane.

Thank you Ramesh we will come back again surely.

“Corbett National Park -Ramesh Suyal”

In April this year (2011) my wife and i organised a trip to Corbett National park and Binsar Retreat through Ramesh Suyal www.tigersincorbett.com.
Due to a serious illness in his family,Ramesh was unable to be our guide,so he put us in the hands of his guide Lalit, and what a guide he was!
I have been on safaris in Africa,South America and India before, but never have i had a guide who had such a enthusiasm for his work,or such a great ability to spot Wildlife. We"d be driving through the park with Lalit,my wife and i busily scanning our surroundings looking for animals, and Lalit would stop the jeep and point out some animal my wife and i had missed altogether.
With Lalit we saw five
Tigers, Jungle Cat, Otters, Mongoose, Crocodile,Gharial, Monitor Lizards,Snakes,Turtles,Herds of Elephant, several Tuskers,Sambar,Spotted Deer,Indian Muntjac,Nilgai,Langur,Macaques, several different members from the Raptor and Hornbill family and countless other species of birds.
Lalit always made sure he got us in the best viewing/photography position even when there was a number of jeeps viewing the same animal.
To give you an idea of the thoroughness of Lalit ,at the beginning of the trip i asked if there was any Nilgai (India"s largest Antelope) in the park as i wanted to see one.He explained to me that they were not found in the park as they mainly lived in farming areas. When our trip had finished and Lalit was driving us back to Delhi through the country side,he stopped the car next to a field, and pointed out some Nilgai that were grazing in it.
Throughout the trip Ramesh was in contact with us and Lalit to make sure everthing was ok and that we were happy.Ramesh"s organisation and thouroughness ,and attention to detail really made the trip fautless.
If your planning a trip to Corbett,i really dont think you can go past the services offered by Ramesh Suyal!

“Corbett National Park”

We have just returned from 9 days in the Corbett National Park area and had a fabulous time.
We found Ramesh Suyal WWW.TIGERSINCORBETT.COM  on Tripadvisor and left all the arrangements to him.
I cannot praise him enough. Leaving your bookings and payments to someone you do not know can leave you worried that not every thing will go according to plan. He delivered everything he said he would. The accomodattion at Corbett Hideaway was lovely and the trips, safaris and excursions he arranged were faultless. He was in touch with us every day to let us know what was going on and would recommend him to anyone thinking of going to Corbett.. We saw 4 tigers in total and they were unforgettable moments. This is however a very beautiful area and well worth a visit anyway.

“Amazing safari with guide Ramesh Suyal”
5 of 5 stars

We did a three day safari to Corbett National Park and it was one of the highlights of our trip to India. We booked the whole experience including tours and hotel with local guide Ramesh Suyal (WWW.TIGERSINCORBETT.COM)
who
was very accommodating to our frequently changing requests including some last minute changes.  We stayed in the Myrica resort in the buffer zone which was a nice, newly built place with excellent food.

Ramesh was our guide for all 3 days and we couldn't ask for a better guide. His wildlife knowledge was extensive and his passion for conservation was infectious. The locals and park rangers respect him and they all speak very highly of him. He managed to get us a morning elephant safari from the Biranji gate rest house which was such an amazing and different experience compared to the jeeps. There is an abundance of wildlife in the park and we saw 2 tigers and many elephants.

I have used the expert services of Ramesh Suyal for the past 8-9 years. His wide knowledge of the local wildlife together with his tracking skills, has enabled maximum benefit from my visits to his beloved Corbett National Park.

Tigers in Corbett is an easy way for anyone to get to see Corbett

"Ramesh (Tigersincorbett) is a wonderful guide to Corbett National Park. His knowledge of the Park, the buffer zone and the wildlife is inexhaustible. He has a lifelong association with the Park, and his deep love for the wildlife has meant that he has helped protect it from poachers, a dangerous undertaking about which he says little, but which meant a great deal to us. He is very convivial company and managed single-handedly to keep us amused and informed for the best part of a fortnight. He is a gifted spotter, and was patient and tenacious, managing to show us, the slower-witted, even the very quick birds. That talent for spotting cannot be overestimated, as early on, before you get in the swing, or rather, back into the swing, you miss so much if you do not have this help. And even when you have got your eye in - he's quicker than most.

Ramesh is a very caring person, he has a young family and is a devoted father. He knows very well the limits and boundaries with the animals, and his judgement on such issues should be followed carefully.

He is dedicated to building his knowledge his care of the local community and environment.
His English is excellent. His conversation is thought-provoking and resonates long after you leave him.
His smile lit up our day every day we were with him, and we hope not only to keep in touch, but to see him again some day."

We had a FANTASTIC time!

Ramesh was so friendly, helpful, and a beacon of straightforward honesty in a sea of sheisters haha!!

Ramesh worked really hard to get us a tiger !
He really knew what he was doing and he was so determined to get us a sighting.
On the last day - and you know how- you kinda know it's going to happen  ?
Well - It was a sensational dawn and we headed off towards high bank.
That's when we spotted the tiger deep in some undergrowth. We watched it for a while - until the jeep circus got a bit much! But Ramesh was very smart and positioned us up and away from the crowd at exactly the right point for the disturbed tiger to pop out and walk right in front of the bonnet and across the road. We got better video footage than the BBC team we had been tagging for 3 days!

Then we headed to high bank and were treated to the tiger swimming, and amazingly, to a family of elephants joining in. So it was a sensational finish to a beautiful experience.

Ramesh ! There is no doubt that he is the best and most genuine guy to see Corbett with.
He had us around to his place to meet some of the family which made it all the more real and special.

A great guy, and Tigersincorbett is a really great idea. It does so much already and I hope it continues to improve the commuity for many years to come and provide many others the chance to see tigers before they all go

A review from Trip Advisor

We've just got back from India, having spent 5 days up in Jim Corbett National Park.

Clearly Corbett is famous for its (growing) tiger population, and that was what attracted us in the first place. We did see indeed several tigers (though sightings are not guaranteed), but there's much more to the place than big cats.

The location is quite magical: pristine dense jungle in the foothills of the Himalayas which is particularly beautiful in the early morning when it's shrouded in mist. The main residential area in the reserve (Dhikala) is effectively a small village situated at the end of the main track through the park, and sits at the top of long bluff, overlooking a reservoir and large expanse of grasslands. Without even leaving Dhikala, it's possible to see herds of wild elephants, deer, and birds of prey.

Unfortunately walking through the jungle is not permitted, so the next best thing is either an elephant safari (silent, atmospheric, but not very comfortable for more than a few hours) or an open-top jeep. The latter allows rapid coverage of the vast reserve, and quick access to wherever the guide thinks tigers might be. We saw 2 tigers up close, crossing the track ahead of us. However the best sighting was from a watchtower in the jungle, from which we followed one tiger stalking a herd of deer (ultimately unsuccessfully). We also saw a great range of other wildlife, including a variety of eagles, gharials, jackals, a rock python, and lots more.

What made our experience particularly special was our guide, Ramesh Suyal. He also organised the transport from Delhi, all our accommodation, permits, safaris etc, and exceeded our expectations in every way possible. His detailed knowledge of the wildlife was incredible, matched only by his passion for the region, and for conservation in general. He was organised, friendly, and genuinely cared that we both enjoyed ourselves and learnt something about Indian wildlife, and the national park during our brief stay. His record on tiger-sightings is pretty impressive too!

Corbett is an absolutely amazing place, and worth a visit for anyone who enjoys beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Hello Ramesh.
Your service is really excellent and, whilst there is always room for improvement, this has to be realistic. Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on your tigerteam. The drivers we had, both on safari and the trip from Delhi and to Agra were outstanding.

Bijrani lodge has huge charm, and the location is wonderful. For Europeans, however, the lack of hot water is problematic, especially when combined with restricted electriciy supply (from 6 - 9 pm only). This may be less of a problem when the weather gets warmer.

Dhikala Lodge. I was impressed by the location and the service was very attentive. Staff were always on the lookout to be helpful and, of course the guide and driver made the experience memorable.

Forest Lodges.
I have one recommendation. That is, to compare these "camps" (Bijrani & Dhikala) with equivalent places in Africa, were safaris have been organized for Europeans for much longer. Africans have managed to combine safaris and luxury. I realize that the Indian authorities may not be favourable to developing such camps to luxury standard, but it would certainly help to make it more attractive to people like us.

In closing I would stress that we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Corbett and, that your service really is outstanding. I wish you the very best for the future and Will of course recommend your service to anyone visiting India.

Best regards,

In February 2009 my wife and I visited Jim Corbett National Park. We were met by Ramesh and his driver at our hotel in Delhi .We found Ramesh to be a very sincere, and well-connected naturalist, and a remarkably observant guide, with an excellent knowledge of birds, mammals, reptiles, plants and ecology. We were so happy with Ramesh's guiding that we arranged an extension of our trip with him. We were very happy with the entire trip and can recommend wholeheartedly the services of Ramesh Suyal and his brother Mohan, who organized a lot of the logistics. The two drivers Ramesh used were very safe and considerate. We had some concern that by focusing on a wildlife experience for this part of our Indian trip we might be sacrificing some cultural appreciation. This turned out not to be the case, because we had a guide who shared interests with us. We had many interesting conversations about local culture and learnt a lot in that regard - much more than we would have done without the services of a guide to accompany us day by day. Ramesh knows many of the best guides and birders throughout India, and would also be a great source of advice for trips to other areas.
